Heading Home - VIC

We boarded the Spirit of Tasmania again to head back to Victoria. We loved Tassie so much, we will be back again, I'm sure. This time around because Tassie has no COVID we were allowed to walk around the boat and see all of its beauty!

We went outside and watched the land disappear and watched the sunset.

Then we ordered Pizza for tea from the restaurant. There was a playground for the kids plus a TV with cartoons. This was hit after a big day waiting around for the boat.

The decorations on the walls from a book around collective nouns for animals. Kylie enjoyed this a lot.

It was a bit windier than our trip over but we all slept OK and woke up early back on main land Melbourne soil.

We had some breakfast on land then drove to Pa's house in Newborough and we were reunited with Tommy Pup!! We had all been waiting for this day for so long and constantly talking about it. Tommy on the other hand, had no idea. We decided to meet him at the park so he could run around...but Park to Tommy means BALL!! So he was excited to see us, and ran around but then went back to his default stage of BALL.

We thanked Pa very much for taking care of our boy and then headed off for our next adventure. We were off to Lake Tyers Beach which holds a very special place in our hearts.

Just before we left for our adventures earlier in the year, we bought a block of land at LTB, and this was the first time we had actually set foot on the land. We camped here for 4 days and just relaxed a bit. We took Tommy for walks to the beach,  saw the mouth of the lake open to the sea and worked hard at perfecting our camp oven cooking (see the perfect apple crumble!)

We went to the Lakes Entrance playground where we used to go every summer with Noni and we are built cubby house tents on the block.

Then we set off for home - stopping via Pa's new house in Traralgon and having fish n chips for lunch with Aunty Emma and Matt. It was so so great to hug these special people again and see their smiling faces.

We arrived home and were so grateful for our chance to have these adventures. It was nice to have some space to move around and have some quiet time alone. The kids were going crazy playing with every single toy in the house and honestly, we did not really see them for a week. They made a huge mess, but we let them get it all out of their systems and they calmed down eventually.

We will remember the past 7 months for the rest of our lives with fond memories and amazing experiences.
