Bay of Fires, TAS.

Our last night in Fortescue Bay Zara was getting a bit of a cold, runny nose and cough. During the night she was struggling with her breathing, not enough for us to rush her to a Doctor but enough for us to search for one come morning. So that controlled the majority of our first day heading up the East coast. We stopped at Bicheno and were helped by a lovely local doctor who checked Zara's oxygen levels and her chest. She was a little bit concerned about a chest infection so prescribed antibiotics! By this stage, Kylie, Elsie and Bridie are also starting to show signs. Saul is the last one standing.

We didn't see much of Bicheno - but Saul did by us some delicious fresh fish an chips complete with squid and scollops for our 8th wedding anniversary. The kids had been looking forward to our anniversary for weeks and it was disppointing to have everyone sick for the special day. But we will make up for it when we are well again.

We stayed at Bicheno just the one night, then headed North to St Helens - the Bay of Fires. We stayed at the south cosy corner campsite - which was absolutely amazing. There is a reason this is the place on all the Tasmania brochures and advertising. We had our own little campsite surrounded by trees with 2 steps to the beach, and it was basically our own private beach.

Saul enjoyed the peace and quiet on the beach by fishing and avoided the sick germs inside the caravan.

The kids still enjoyed the beach even though they were sick. Zara and Elsie spent the whole entire day just building sandcastles for their barbies and making creations with shells. They even did the photography on their creations. Kylie was still feel unwell so handed the camera over and this masterpieces are the results of the kids' handiwork.

Bridie and Kylie spent their time sitting on the rocks and just watching the waves.

Thankfully we were starting to feel a bit better, and we cooked a silverside complete with mashed potatoes, veggies and white sauce. Everyone ate it without a word and asked for more! No complaints here about the kitchen view.
