Perth, Gidgegannup and Eneabba, WA.
After getting soaked and freezing in the South West for a weeks, we are finally turning and heading North in search of some sunshine. Perth was very promising, showing of all it beauty with a sunny day. We drove past the new footy oval, at Optus Stadium. It was very impressive.
We bypassed the rest of the city and headed north east to a cute little town in Gidgegannup and stayed on a bush block where the owners left campers stay for a small cost. Bob the owner was very friendly and generous and gave us some good tips on heading north. He warned us to get a move on with booking things up the coast because the silly season is worse than normal this year due to covid restrictions stopping WA travellers from going overseas. We did already know this but I think we were in denial, but now we have to really make some plans.
We were lucky enough to catch up with Nick, who Kylie used to work with at PVC and his boys, Brayden and Callum. We had a good catch up at a nice brewery with a very cool playground made from old trucks. And once the sun went down, the playground lit up and it was like a whole new playground. We were too busy chatting and playing that we forgot to take photos. But the photo wouldn't have been complete anyway without Tanya or Saul and Elsie. Tanya was unwell on the day and Elsie had some challenging times that day and needed some down time.
After our brief stop near Perth, we kept heading north and stopped again for an overnighter at Eneabba, a tiny little town with huge hospitality. A very low cost RV camp behind the recreational reserve with showers and toilets AND a playground. SO good. The kids loved the chance just to run around and play and it gave us a few hours of peace to call a few caravan parks up North and make some bookings. Again too busy to take photos here but I wish I did becuase it was a beautiful clear open sky with great old trees lining the oval.
The kids are getting used to occupying themselves in the car. Bridie makes the most of the down time and naps, mostly because she is so tired because she refuses to nap unless in the moving car. Here she was being grumpy and hiding from us but actually feel asleep. Win win for all.
